1201T Asus EeePC, Asus launches its first netbook with AMD Congo
Asus has introduced in the Asian market a new laptop family EeePC, halfway between a netbook and conventional equipment. Asus EeePC is the 1201T and the greatest novelty is that it is the first to leave the Intel Atom platform to opt for the AMD platform Congo, formed by the AMD MV-40 1.6GHz and ATI Radeon 3200 HD .
The Congo platform performance is similar to the alliance between Intel Atom and Nvidia graphics ION, and is designed to give a little more fluidity to the reproduction of high definition video. Strangely, unlike ION, the Asus EeePC is not part 1201T HDMI connection, but a simple (and already somewhat obsolete) VGA.

With a total weight of only kilo and a half and 12-inch screen, the Asus EeePC 1201T also includes 320GB hard drive and up to 2GB of RAM. In the section we find Wi-Fi connections (Asus still has not specified under what standards) and Bluetooth 2.1. So far no date for the European launch of this new portable, Asus is also unclear whether Intel will abandon his family for AMD EeePC or is just an alternative to the Asian market.
