Lenovo IdeaPad U330: ultraportable 13.3-inch Centrino 2
IdeaPad U330 will be the first of the subnotebook consumer Lenovo 13.3-inch, and will enjoy the new Intel Centrino 2 platform. Combining with the model U110 11.1-inch, ultra-portable based on the earlier Intel Santa Rosa platform which has enjoyed great success in the Chinese market, IdeaPad U330 will be marketed probably in the autumn season, in two variants distinguished by different colors: Indigo Blue and Ebony Black.
The Chinese producer can exploit the new Centrino 2 when it comes to saving energy, using for its new U330 Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn processors, lower-power and high power, as the version P7350 and P8400 from 2GHz to 2.26GHz, as Graphics are provided on the other hand, a dual-mode solution, which allows switching between a dedicated video card and low-end ATI graphics controller integrated Mobile Intel G45 chipset, Intel GMA X4500HD.
Wireless connectivity will be updated with new modules WiFi Link 5300AGN and 5100, but we also expect any solutions for Bluetooth and 3G/UMTS, which still does not have precise information. U330 will have a very thin chassis, thanks to the LCD with LED technology, which also contributes to ease the notebook. Sources say the thickness should be about 22.8 millimeters. Will still be room to integrate an optical drive for burning DVDs, a practice increasingly common in ultraportables, favored by miniaturization of components increasingly advanced.
Do not miss some features already present in the larger models, such as the VeriFace facial recognition, Dolby Home Theater audio system and a touch-sensitive media controls that make a U330 notebook also interesting from the standpoint of digital entertainment, supplied also an HDMI port.
There were signs on the storage compartment, although the autonomy of 5 hours declared that Lenovo might suggest a solution to the choice of SSD. The Chinese company has not yet revealed the price of launch: the marketing of IdeaPad U330 could in fact be released after the IdeaPad Y430, Y530 and Y730, since it is an unusual model.
