Dell Vostro A840 and A860 with Ubuntu Linux
Dell has announced in these hours the launch of two new professional laptop, Vostro A840 and A860, at competitive rates, aimed at emerging markets. The Dell Vostro A840 model supports Intel Celeron to Core 2 Duo, with 1GB of memory and a 120GB SATA hard drive or 160GB. The LCD 14.1-inch WXGA anti-glare has a resolution of 1280x800, while its media is represented by a DVD burner, Wi-Fi connectivity from Bluetooth and optional.
Dell offers to its users as the operating system is one of the versions of Windows Vista is the Linux distribution Ubuntu. In Italy, a few Dell laptops integrate Ubuntu, even though in reality the U.S. multinational is one of the few companies to offer an operating system other than those signed by Microsoft. The Vostro A860 model has instead an LCD with 16:9 aspect ratio and 15.6-inch diagonal, high-definition and glare, while the rest of the configuration is similar to the A840 model.
Dell says that these notebooks will be launched in over 20 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
